Art About MeImage of Puppet Show

“It is important to children to learn about self identity in early ages so they can start to understand and appreciate our diverse society…. When young children get an understanding of self-identity, they not only posses an understanding, but also respect for one another.”

Monica Martinez, Kindergarten teacher

Workshop Overview: The Art About Me workshop, based on the book The Skin You Live In, helps teachers deal with complex topics such as diversity, prejudice, self-esteem, and acceptance.  Set in Kraft Artabounds Studio, the workshop features an age-appropriate puppet show as well as an opportunity for students to create puppets that represent their own unique characteristics.
