Be a Bee

"This was extremely great for the students to get an opportunity to pretend and visualize what bugs’ functions are."
– Izola Cain-Moore, Kindergarten Teacher

Workshop Overview: The Be A Bee workshop occurs in our Big Backyard exhibit, designed to spark children’s imagination and sense of wonder in an oversized, urban garden. By taking on a bee persona and trying out different jobs that bees do, students will learn why working together is so important. Dramatic play, creative movement and science all meet in this imaginative and hands-on workshop.
