Our trip to the museum opened up new ideas about nature for our students. We returned to the classroom and explored these ideas in fun and diverse ways. Through hands-on experiences, the students became more aware of what is going on in the world around them."

Workshop Overview: The Be a Bug workshop in our BIG Backyard exhibit is designed to spark children’s imaginations and sense of wonder in an oversized, urban garden. By taking on a bug persona and trying out different jobs that bugs do, students will learn why insects are so important to the environment. Dramatic play, creative movement, and science all meet in this imaginative, hands-on workshop.
