Passport to the World, Community Resource Fairs, and hundreds of other events and activities bring playful learning opportunities to visitors every day of the year.

Prepare for a visit from our playful “building inspector” who will provide “bracing” pep talks and test the sturdiness of your construction project.

Rock out as an all-youth band from the Intonation Music Workshop performs in the Great Hall!
Little Miss Ann Band and Irish School of Music
Enjoy a night of musical performances, as Little Miss Ann Band's folk-rock tunes get kids and caregivers moving and dancing along. Then, the Irish Music School of Chicago plays traditional Irish tunes and holiday favorites.

Passport to the World: Celebrations

Join our Passport to the World partners as we learn, through songs and performances, how different cultures celebrate important holidays.
Pretend You’re on Ice!
Skate in your socks on our indoor “ice” rink while you enjoy our Snow Much Fun exhibit.
Survive Alive
Practice getting out of a "smoke-filled" room in our Play It Safe exhibit's "Get Low and Go" bedroom.
Vision Screenings
Free screenings will be offered by Prevent Blindness America.
Winter Ball
If you can count to six, you can learn to waltz! This over-the-top ballroom dance features a zany orchestra and a chance of snow flurries.
