Shop in the grocery store, change a tire and drive a CTA bus in this miniature cityscape built just for kids ages five and younger! This sensory-rich urban “neighborhood” promotes role-playing, problem-solving, emerging literacy and creative exploration through an assortment of fun and absorbing activities.

Kovler Family Climbing Schooner
Scale this towering schooner’s three floors of ship-shape rigging—from deck to crow’s nest! The Kovler Family Climbing Schooner invites kids and caregivers to voyage to the bottom of the ocean and explore the tropical fish, before climbing up to the rafters and racing through the rope-like tubes at the very top. This one-of-a-kind exhibit offers an exhilarating physical—and mental—challenge to children ages five and older.

My Museum
Learn about others, and discover yourself in a new exhibit that celebrates the uniqueness of every child. In My Museum, developed by Chicago Children's Museum and architectureisfun, you can take a self-portrait in the Picture Me photo booth and add it to the Neighborhood Mural. Mold your own likeness or that of a friend in Model Me. Travel through a mirrored Kaleidoscope tunnel to see reflections of yourself and others from every angle. You can even display your own personal collections! This is your place to show what makes you you, and to think about what makes others special, too.

All of the art displayed was created by Kraft Artabounds Studio visitors and program participants from Christopher House, Vaughn Occupational High School, Henson Elementary School, John Gregory Math and Science Academy, and Padres a Padres.
