CELEBRATE AFRICAN-AMERICAN HERITAGE AT
CHICAGO CHILDREN’S MUSEUM

Chicago, IL—Chicago Children's Museum (CCM) will Celebrate African-American
Heritage and feature programs honoring the history and traditions
surrounding Black History Month throughout February. The celebration
kicked off February
7 with a performance by the Betty Shabazz International Charter
School. Kraft Free Family Nights every Thursday from 5-8pm, and
Saturdays February 16 and
23 from 1-4pm will feature art activities, performances, community
resources and more.
Enjoy the musical stylings of eight-year-old violinist Max Lulich
this Thursday, February 14. Get footloose and fancy-free on February
21 with a special tap dance by Reggio "the Hoofer." The celebration
concludes February 28 with singing and stories as Your Favorite
Story Tellers, D. Kucha
Brownlee and Baba Tony Brown give you the history of the banjo.
Discover the art of hair-braiding in HAIRitage: Locs & Braids. Families
and children can create a story together and record it on a CD to take home
in Stories Connect Us. Vision and developmental screenings will be available
free of charge.
