JIM LAW NAMED VICE PRESIDENT OF PLANNING AND EXTERNAL AFFAIRS OF CHICAGO CHILDREN'S MUSEUM

Chicago, IL, March 7, 2007. Chicago Children's Museum (CCM) announced today
the City of Chicago Executive Director of the Mayor's Office of Special Events,
Jim Law will join CCM as Vice President of Planning and External Affairs at the
end of March. Law will be responsible for managing and overseeing the museumís
relocation project.
"Jim brings a strong background in project development, strategic planning and
external affairs," said CCM CEO and President, Peter England. "We are delighted
to have him lead this exciting project we are embarking upon."
Prior to joining CCM, as the Executive Director of the Mayor's Office of Special
Events he oversaw nationally recognized festivals including the Chicago Blues
Festival, Chicago Jazz Festival and the Chicago Air and Water Show. Law was
also responsible for the creation and development of new annual events such as
Great Chicago Places & Spaces, Chicago Outdoor Film and Festival, and Mayor Daley's
Holiday Sports Festival.
Previously, Law served as Director of the Chicago Office of Tourism. In this
role he worked to promote Chicago as a premiere leisure travel destination through
innovative marketing and public relations initiatives and product development. He
represented and promoted the City of Chicago in France, Great Britain, Sweden,
Italy, Switzerland, Japan and Germany. Prior to his work with the city, he practiced
architecture in Illinois, New York and Connecticut for 12 years.

a wonderful new experience that draws children and families to the heart of Chicago's
beautiful front yard," added Law.
"After 16 years in a rewarding public service career, I leave the City of Chicago
with gratitude to Mayor Daley and his administration," said Law.
Law has a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Cornell University. He has served
on the Advisory Board for the People's Music School, Chicago Convention and Tourism
Bureau and the Audience Development and Diversity Committee for the Museum of
Contemporary Art.
