Chicago, IL– Chicago Children’s Museum announces the kickoff of its third consecutive year of Target Free First Mondays. Children ages 15 years and younger receive free museum admission the first Monday of every month

“We’re incredibly fortunate to have such an important sponsor like Target on board for another year,” said CCM President and CEO Peter England. “Programs centered on literacy are imperative for young children and their educational development, and Target has helped us to create programming that encourages children and their families to read together.”

Target Free First Mondays will feature Monday Book Parties, a CCM-originated activity designed to spark an early love of reading and reinforce interactive family-centered learning. Alphapalooza—beginning July 2—turns CCM staff members and Target volunteers into letters of the alphabet, while children receive clues in an attempt to solve their identities. Beginning July 9, and throughout July and August, Poetry after Dark invites children to write poems celebrating summer nights.

Special guest authors and Target volunteers will be invited to read books in parent-targeted areas. For additional information on programs and activities for Target Free First Mondays, visit www.ChicagoChildrensMuseum.org or call 312.527.1000.
