FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CHICAGO, IL— Chicago Children's Museum (CCM) will offer free admission to children age 15 and under the first Sunday of every month when Target Free First Sundays kicks off on May 3, 2009. The new program replaces Target Free First Mondays.

"Historically, we've seen more families visiting on Sundays than Mondays," said CCM President and CEO Jennifer Farrington."Thanks to this fantastic partnership with Target, more children can experience CCM free of charge." In these difficult economic times, it is imperative that CCM's programming surrounding the arts, culture and family literacy be as accessible as possible to all of Chicago's children and families."

"Target strives to make educational and artistic experiences more affordable and accessible to families across the country," said Laysha Ward, president, community relations, Target. "Our continued partnership with Chicago Children's Museum, and the new Target Free First Sundays, gives the Chicago area community the opportunity to experience the wonders of the Museum for free."

Since 2005, the partnership between Target and CCM has helped connect families with fun, hands-on learning. Target Free First Sundays will offer visitors a wider array of programming surrounding arts, educational and culture. Museum hours on Target Free First Sundays will be 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Monday hours will resume as 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. For a complete list of museum hours, click here.
