Learning never takes a vacation! Bring your group to Chicago Children’s Museum this summer for a playful, one-of-a kind
self-guided or
facilitated field trip.
Summer programs are available June 15 - September 30, 2010.CCM also offers self-guided visits and facilitated workshops during the school year. Check back in September for more information.

Facilitated Workshops
During a facilitated workshop, your group will experience a hands-on workshop led by a museum educator just for your group! This two-hour visit includes a workshop and free museum exploration.

Arts in Action
Age 4 – Grade 1
Explore the squiggly, straight, long and short world of lines! This workshop uses visual art, creative movement and literacy to help children recognize that lines of many kinds are everywhere. Students will create lines in tactile, fun and wacky ways with unique art materials and with their own bodies. Dress for the mess!

Inventing Lab

What does it take to invent something new? Find out in this high-energy workshop. Students will team up for our Golf Ball Challenge, using simple machines and gadgets to invent a goofy golf-ball-moving machine.

Secrets of Painting
Grades 1-5
Unlock the secrets of painting! This workshop gives students a first-hand understanding of artist tools, techniques and concepts through a series of investigative activities about basic art elements. Students will apply these newfound discoveries as they create unique works of art to take home.

Grades 1-5
Can students build forts and literacy skills at the same time? In our new Forts workshop they can! Students will build and play in forts that transform into story settings as they write adventurous tales together.
