Boats: Captain Your Own Adventure

Now Open

Nothing says summer in Chicago like the sea of boats docked along Navy Pier. But this summer at Chicago Children’s Museum, kids get to be the captains.

Boats, our summer exhibit, lets kids climb boats, play with authentic and play boating equipment, and captain their own adventures—without any of the sea sickness.

Visitors to Boats will be able to:

  • Drop a fishing line off the edge of our two-level boat
  • Explore the boat’s bunk and kitchen, or hop off board to check out the bait shop
  • Try on life vests or even the captain’s jacket
  • Steer the ship, secure the rigging or drop a buoy
  • Play whatever nautical role they imagine—all in the safety of our kid-centered space

This summer, check out the boats along the Pier—including our exclusive CCM package with Seadog cruises—and come inside to become the captain.
