Free & Discounted Visits

Among Chicago Children’s Museum’s core beliefs is that play is the right of every child, regardless of ability, background or income. The following free programs and discounts ensure children, families, educators and community servants from Chicago and the nation have a safe, welcoming place to play and learn when they enter Chicago Children’s Museum.

Play Late Thursdays

Jump start your weekend with Play Late Thursdays at Chicago Children’s Museum! Every Thursday at 4-8 pm, families and groups of up to four people can access all CCM has to offer for $14.95. And if your crew is more than four, each extra person only pays $5.00 each.

Free First Sundays

We offer free admission for visitors 15 and under on the first Sunday of each month! Groups of 18 or more must register for Free First Sundays by calling (312) 464-8249.

Military, Police, Firefighters, Paramedics, and Teachers

Veterans and Active Military
For their service to our country, veterans and active military receive free admission every day. Please present a valid form of military status identification at the admissions desk to receive free admission.

Teachers, Firefighters, Police Officers and Paramedics
To honor the contributions teachers, police officers, and firefighters make to the community every day, Chicago Children’s Museum offers a discounted admission price of $12.95 to teachers, firefighters and police officers with a valid form of employment identification.

Museums for All Discounted Admission

As a Museums for All partner, we offer any Illinois family that qualifies for state food assistance and is in possession of an EBT or WIC card, admission to the museum for up to 6 people for $3. To qualify for the Museum for All rate, the group must include at least one adult and one child 15 years old or younger. Simply present your EBT or WIC card to Chicago Children’s Museum—and enjoy your visit! Click here to learn more.

Educator and Student Researcher Tours

Chicago Children’s Museum welcomes educators, museum professionals, and student visitors to explore the museum and learn about play-based learning in action. Our doors are open and admission is waived seven days a week from 1 pm to close for self-guided exploration and observation for adult visitors not accompanied by a child visitor.

Please check in at the membership desk after 1 pm, present your educator/student identification, and enjoy the museum!

Educators or high school and university student groups of more than 10 people should pre-register as a group visit by calling (312) 464-8249.

Extensive observations of Art Studio, Tinkering Lab, or other museum exhibits for more than one day in the same month, please request your specific observation needs here.

Field Trip Scholarships

Chicago Children’s Museum strives to cultivate spaces and experiences that reflect the larger Chicagoland community, and remove barriers to play. That’s why we offer the Chicago Children’s Museum Field Trip Scholarship Program. This need-based program is designed to reduce financial barriers to CCM field trips and group visits. Play For All Events

Held the second Saturday of every month, Play For All events invite children and families with disabilities to experience Chicago Children’s Museum’s inclusive, multisensory exhibits and programs. The museum opens one hour early, at 9 am, for pre-registered guests. The first 250 visitors to register receive free admission. Group opportunities are available. Parker Program

Throughout the school year, Chicago Children’s Museum welcomes students with disabilities to explore the museum’s interactive exhibits with specially-trained students from Francis W.
