The Associates Board Empowers Children to Play, Learn, Create, and Grow.

The Chicago Children’s Museum (CCM) Associates Board is a volunteer working board committed to advancing the mission of CCM and the civic well-being of future generations by building awareness, participation, and support. Board members join a prestigious group of civic-minded leaders that contribute their time, talents, and resources to establish connections between the museum and people and companies who want to improve the lives of children in Chicago and beyond.

The Associates Board advances Chicago Children’s Museum as: 

  • Ambassadors of the Museum’s mission and program

  • Investors in the Museum’s success 

  • Lead organizers and hosts annual spring fundraising event at the museum 

  • Volunteers at the museum or other community gatherings 

  • Members of select Board committees 

  • Potential future members of the Board of Directors 

    • Membership to the Chicago Children’s Museum 

    • Recognition as a volunteer leader with a beloved Chicago cultural institution 

    • Engagement in a community of civic-minded leaders, professionals, parents, and educators 

    • Networking opportunities with other board members and supporters of CCM 

    • Professional development opportunities 

    • Fundraising/sales and recruiting experience 

    • Exclusive event invitations

    • Actively participate in helping the Associates Board reach its annual fundraising and membership goals 

    • $1,500 give or get fundraising minimum for Associates Board related initiatives 

    • Attend/support Associates Board’s signature spring fundraising event

    • Help CCM expand its network of support and access 

    • Attend four (4) Associates Board meetings 

    • Participate in a committee 

    • Serve as an ambassador of the museum at events, in donor stewardship, and through media engagement 

    • Attend annual Board of Directors meeting 

    • Volunteer at a museum function

Applications may be submitted on a rolling basis. The next round of application review will begin on May 1, 2026 for a July 2026 term start date.
