How do I know which exhibits align to my classroom curriculum?

All of CCM’s exhibits are aligned to the Illinois Early Learning Standards and Common Core State Standards. Download detailed descriptions of each exhibit and the standards to which they connect.

Do you have resources for educators leading group visits to Chicago Children’s Museum?

The Storybook Guide describes each of CCM’s exhibits from a child’s perspective and helps families choose exhibits to visit. The Storybook Guide, specially designed for children with developmental disabilities, is appropriate for any child who would like to know about exhibits and activities. You can also download a museum map.

How can I register?

Register online or call us at (312) 464-8249. You will need to hold your reservation with a credit card. Pre-registration is required for all visits.

How far in advance should I register my group?

Pre-registration is required for all visits. To ensure confirmation of your desired date and time, please register at least 30 days in advance of your visit. Full payments are due 14 days prior to your visit.

How will I know that my group is confirmed?

Submission of your application does not confirm your visit. Visits are confirmed upon receiving a reservation number. Your reservation number is listed on your confirmation letter and invoice.

Where do we enter the museum?

The museum's entrance is located on the first level of the Navy Pier Family Pavilion. Upon arrival, please follow Navy Pier signs for the designated bus drop off location.

Do I need chaperones?

Yes! One adult chaperone is required for every 5 children entering the museum. Bringing more chaperones is strongly encouraged. Chaperones must be at least 16 years old.

Where can we eat?

CCM does not have lunch facilities. If you choose to bring lunch, we will hold them for you during your visit. You may eat your lunch in the designated food areas on Navy Pier.

How do I cancel my visit?

All visits must be cancelled at least 14 days prior to your scheduled arrival in order to receive a refund. If you cancel fewer than 14 days in advance, no refund will be issued.

How do I reschedule my visit?

If you have to reschedule you must do so at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled trip date. Failure to do so will result in loss of funds and you will be required to submit another payment.

What is your refund policy?

Refunds will not be provided on the day of your visit for any absent people. If you must make changes to your reservation, please call (312) 464-8249 at least 14 days prior.

Will you charge my credit card?

A credit card is required to hold your reservation. All reservations must be paid in full 14 days prior to your field trip. If payment is not received by 4 pm on your payment due date, the credit card used to hold the reservation will be charged.
