Kids Ages 9 and Up

Chicago Children’s Museum offers tweens (and even some grownups) a variety of experiences to explore, create, and take risks safely.

Exhibits

  • Flex your building and problem-solving skills in Tinkering Lab where you can use a variety of tools and materials to create your own solutions to engineering challenges.

  • Experience the twists, climbs, and views of Cloud Buster, our one-of-a-kind climbing sculpture.

  • Skyline is the landscape to design and build a kid-sized skyscraper using wooden struts and real tools. The exhibit encourages wonder, inquiry, experimentation, and problem solving.

Museum-wide Programs

A variety of programs are offered each day. Throughout the year, visitors can find:

  • Arts and culture programs like studio workshops, performances, and visiting artists

  • Diversity and inclusion focused programs like International Family Equality Day and “What Does It Mean Dr. King?”

  • Health and wellness programs that get children moving and playing actively

  • Literacy programs that encourage talking, listening, reading, and writing

  • STEM programs to encourage wonder, inquiry, experimentation, and problem solving
